how we got here

Harrell Power & Restoration didn't start in an office, it started on job sites, in bucket trucks, and inside switchgear rooms across California. For more than 12 years, I worked my way up through the electrical trade, leading residential and commercial solar crews at Peak Solar, cutting my teeth on oilfield and plant electrical systems as an Industrial Electrician at Braun Electric, and maintaining the high-voltage backbone of industrial facilities at Sierra Pacific Industries and Morning Star Packing Co.

Along the way I got hands-on experience with a wide variety of equipment the trade has to offer 120V residential panels up through 12kV industrial switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, motor control centers, instrumentation, substations, and steam generators. I earned a reputation for doing the job right, staying safe on every site, and never cutting a corner. A run of more than 12 years without a single on-the-job injury, personally or on any crew I led.

Working for other companies taught me the trade. But it also showed me what I wanted to build for my own family, I wasn't going to get there working for someone else's bottom line.

Why This Company Exists

Harrell Power & Restoration is about more than electrical work. It's my shot at building a living where a single income is enough that my wife doesn't have to work outside the home, and our kids get raised by their own mom instead of a daycare or a stranger.

That's not a side benefit of this business. It's the entire point of it. Every job we take on, every call we answer, and every long day in service of that goal — which is exactly why we hold every job to the same standard I built my whole career on: every task the right way, every time. Our family's future rides on the reputation we build with every customer, so we don't treat that lightly.

The People Who Got Us Here

None of this happens alone, and it didn't happen overnight. Behind every long shift, and every risk it took to walk away from a steady paycheck and build something of our own, there's been a family holding everything together.

Maleesa, my wife, has carried more of this than anyone will ever see, running our household, raising our kids, and holding down the home front through years of odd hours, out-of-town jobs, and the uncertainty that comes with betting on yourself. This entire business exists so she can keep doing exactly that, full-time, without ever having to hand that job to someone else.

Our kids, Khloe, Tucker, and Milo are the reason any of these matters. Every decision we make about this business gets measured against one question; does it make life better for them? That's the whole scoreboard.

We've also leaned on family and friends more than we can ever fully repay, for encouragement on the hard days, a helping hand when it mattered most, and for believing in this before it was anything more than an idea scribbled down after a long shift. Harrell Power & Restoration carries their support into every job we do.
